[wtp-dev] Inconsistent behavior opening non-workspace files

I just opened a new bug for the WSDL editor, and also am looking into a related
bug in the XSD editor. I'll also test other editors. But in general we need a
careful review of all editors when opening external, non-workspace files. The
SSE docuentation states that external files (in general) are supported. But
this is problematic in the current I-build.

Should these problems be reviewed and fixed prior to 0.7? If not, we need an
explicit errata that external files are not supported in this release.

My experience testing with several end-users who are new to Eclipse but familiar
with several other XML editors is that they very often try to open external
files instead of moving them into a workspace. Most don't know that you can
link external folders into a workspace.

One user complained that he could not find a way to validate XML Schemas or XML
instances. Turned out that he was opening external files. I don't know of any
way to validate non-workspace files. Should I add a bugzilla to request this
enhancement, or do we make it clear that this feature requires a workspace
files?

WSDL editor throws exception opening any non-workspace file.
