Fw: [wtp-dev] Testing Web services tools in WTP M3 candidate I-build 200502230727

Hi Riadh,

The Web services tools in WTP drives the Axis emitter underneath.  So we are constrained by what's generated by the Axis emitter.  That is, if the Axis emitter has limitation handling some types of beans, we would run into that as well.

In WTP M3, we uses the Axis 1.1 emitter.  I tried a service bean returning an array of complex type and I'm getting the wrong WSDL file generated as well.  I've tried turning a service bean with nested complex types in to Web service using RPC/Encoded and document/literal wrapped and they were fine.

We are planning to move up to newer releases of Axis when they become available.

hello,

please, have an idea how to represent complex types (as: matrice, array...) in web services because I used gSOAP 2.7 for that and it had generated a .wsdl that had erronnous types (it didn't give me these complex type)

have an idea plz else can I use other solution as yours for example !!??

thx a lot

Best regards

Riadh

Hi,

We are currently running FVT on the Web services tools in the WTP M3 driver on Windows and Linux.  Here's the link to the test plan:

If there's anyone in the community interested in helping out the testing of the Web services tools to identify problem areas that needs to be addressed, you're more than welcome to do so.  If you find any defect that you think is critical to be addressed in M3, please let us know.

[wtp-dev] Web Services tutorials running successfully in WTP M3 candidate I-build 200502230727

Hi,

I download the 200502230727 I-build for Windows 2000 and ran the Web services tutorials in the community page:

http://eclipse.org/webtools/community/community.html#tutorials

I am delighted to say that all 4 Web services tutorials run successfully with no workaround needed.

I would like to point out that we were able to put precompiled JSPs for the Web Services Explorer in the build (thanks to Jeffery Liu), so the Web Services Explorer now comes up in about 7 seconds the first time and about 2 seconds the second time.  Also, invoking new function in the Web Service Explorer just takes a couple of seconds.  This is a great improvement from the the 0218 build last week.

Our team would be doing more testing of the Web Services tools as documented in the JST Web Services Tools Milestone 3 Test Plan and would report back to the WTP team.
