Re: [vtp-dev] vtp build system

I would recommend that we get a provisional PDE based build up and running
for integration/nightly builds. Once this is available, I'd love to move
down the road of helping the new project out however we can.

In regards to the manual vs. automated building, I think we need to support
both. The automated build is something that is required of our project if
we were to chose to mature into either a top level project or migrate into
one of the other existing projects. It can also be leveraged to perform
some rudimentary integration testing (with the expansion of our test cases).

The manual process is still important as this project is designed to be
extended by others at every level of the architecture. They will need to be
able to build easily and quickly from the Eclipse UI. We should try to keep
this as simple a procedure as possible.

Adam,
If you would like to submit your skeleton build as a Bugzilla entry, I'd
be willing to extend committer rights to you so you can continue its
development. I'd also task you as the liaison for our project to the releng
committies and projects.
