Re: [virgo-dev] Eclispe IDE support for Virgo Runtime

The Virgo tooling is in the process of being donated to Eclipse. Meanwhile you can add it to Eclipse Java EE as described in the Virgo Programmer Guide [1].

Once the tooling has been donated, standards-based pieces will be factored out into WTP (of which the OSGi Enterprise Tools will be a subproject) and/or PDE projects.

Hi,

I believe that WTP can provide the needed tools (Server Adapter) to implement such tooling. Furthermore there is OSGi Enterprise Tools proposal targeted at integration of some of the STS features with WTP. Please check “Virgo Tools” section in the proposal:

Subject: [virgo-dev] Eclispe IDE support for Virgo Runtime

Hello,
I'm using eclipse EE latest release, but don't see support for Virgo under Server runtime. When should we expect for this support?
It's interesting to see virgo runtime support in Springsource Tool Suite but not yet in Eclipse -- any technical reasons behind this?
