I'm keeping an eye on the JLine issue, I added myself to the CC list.
I'm really interested to know the issues and might be able to help as I
know the code and who has made the modifications internally.
As for alternatives, there are a few forks of JLine hosted on Git, one
of which is quite active and looking at there commits they have been
fixing a lot of the issues we have encountered so this may be worth
looking at. I's also recommend asking advice from Ben Alex.

CQ4027, which represents Virgo's dependency on jline, currently looks unlikely to be approved so I have raised https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=313316 to consider the alternatives.
