Having experienced at first hand how much work is involved in using VE for any non-java source file the 'NotJustJavaVisualEditor' extension should definitely be used for any possible XML editors, EXSWT, XForms etc.. It will maximise code reuse and save a lot of work. It's for possible new extensions like this that I wrote it!
