As you said the new VE is compatible with eclipse 3.1.

You are probably using Eclipse 3.1. Eclipse 3.1 is not compatible with ve 1.0.x, which is all that is available from software updates. If you can wait until Monday we should have the final VE 1.1 release out by Friday and that one will work with Eclipse 3.1 and it will be available from software updates.
If you can't wait, then you will need to go to the VE download page and download the latest integration build (and the required levels of EMF and GEF).
The second thing is it would be better to ask questions on using VE, such as this kind of question, on the eclipsetools.ve newsgroup. The newsgroup has a wider audience for answering such questions. This mailing list is for VE developers and VE extenders discussions.

I updated eclipse from his menu Help > Software Updates.
I installed via internet the VE (Vusual Editor) but when I try to load some example the folowed message appears:
Creation of element failed

could anyone help me on this ?
