Hi Johan,

Indeed, Ipzilla seems to be accessible only by the ticket's creator and "administrators"...

My Github repo is not the main repository of the Project. It was a temporary way to collaborate with the initial contributors (especially with Fabien and some contributors from CNES), waiting for validation from Eclipse foundation. We have just obtained the agreement to put this code to the UML Generators Git repository [1][2]. I think to transfer the code and to install Gerrit review system, this week. From this point, we will be able to take into consideration your contribution, through a review. I will keep you informed for that.

About C reverser (C2UML), I worked on it these last days to extract the diagram part (dependent from Topcased) and to provide an extension mechanism to initialize potential diagrams (Papyrus or other kind...) when a reverse processing is launched. I have some tests to do yet and to formalize code in relation to IP... I will submit this code through a review and I would like Fabien to validate this.

Ok, no problem, I will do this.

About UML2C, Fabien, I would like us to make a review about the remain preferences pages, to insure that all is ok, nothing is missing... ?

Humm.. It depends on what you were expecting :)
All is in place, but could not be fully functional. All the previous preferences page (as in Topcased) were reworked with default values and behavior, waiting for other code rework in the C reverser part. But yes, we should do a review and discuss about these pref pages which could not be really independent of the C reverser.

At last, I have to ask webmaster for adding a "core component" for cross issues, in the bugzilla [3].

Yes It seems to be a good idea.

ok that's great Fabien !

Spacebel was supposed to share something too. Actually, we have a C generator working with Papyrus and without any annotations. Instead, we have implemented a UML profile called 'functional C' for the C language disappoints ...

Since I'm new in the committer world :-) , don't hesitate to point me where we can provide piece of code ... or contribute ..

Johan

Hi Johan,

yes the C generator is coming from Topcased (The UML2C component). Some modifications have been provided in order to comply with the new Eclipse UML generator codebase and for now it works only from UML models already existing and produced from the Topcased editors. A Work should be done in order to allow the generation from Papyrus created UML models (or other Eclipse UML XMI compliant models) : this is due to the fact that the UML2C/C2UML roundtrip from Topcased work with Annotations in the models. These annotations were provided and put in place by the C reverser part mentioned by Cedric, and the code is tightly linked with Topcased Diagrams and properties code. The C2UML/UML2C Topcased components were originally designed with the "C reverser" as an entry point in the roundtrip process.

Hi Cédric,

Many thanks for this first contribution. Concerning the generator C, I guess it is the existing code coming from Topcased isn't it ? However, I tried to access to the ipzilla to see the work in progress, unfortunately I don't have the permission !

Is the GitHub repo the main repository of the project UML generators ?

best regards;
Johan

Hi,

I'm pleased to announce that an initial contribution was send to the Eclipse foundation.
You can see the details and follow the work progress here:
http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8261

In a parallel flow, we are working to initialize a wiki for developers:
https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_UML_Generators
The aim is to give prerequisites to be able to contribute to UML Generators Project when the first base of code will be located on Eclipse Git.

We are currently making evolve the C reverser to make it runnable and compatible with the new platform (extracting the Topcased diagram part).

For remember, the "living" code can be accessed on my personal github:
https://github.com/cnotot/EclipseUMLGenerators

Best Regards,
Cedric
