I'm confused.
In another mail, Stefan says removing modal dialogs is easy and could work without any other changes. Improving UI would be a next iteration, more expensive one.

I have the impression that instead of splitting the topic in smaller actionable items, this discussion is adding layers of complexity and constraints that make it impossible to make any progress on this topic in an affordable way.
