You are correct. This is why this was a just a workaround :)
If you think this will cause problems, then the only solution I can think of is to publish this extension bundle into a p2 repo for tycho to be able to consume it (and ask the virgo team to do it regularly)
Btw are  you planning on deploying this bundle with p2 in virgo nano?
