So this comes down to the sad CI story at Eclipse: There is no usable Nexus at Eclipse, so we don’t have any official CI build. I think Igor has set up something on the Sonatype infrastructure, but there are no SLAs associated with it. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. From my experience the CI build works well for main Tycho, but I haven’t tried Tycho-Extras any time recently.

Ok, fair enough.

But why don’t you simply build Tycho and Tycho-Extras locally?

This did not came to my mind so far. Version we use are used to work fine.
But I think I'm going to do that: build master branch for tycho and tycho-extras and publish them to JBoss Nexus snapshots repository ( https://repository.jboss.org/nexus/content/repositories/snapshots/ ). If you think it would be helpful for Tycho in general, we could see whether this could be automated so JBoss Snapshots repo would always contain a very recent version of Tycho snapshot.
