Re: [tools-pmc] Request for approval to have an AspectJ 1.8 release review

Make sure that you create a release record in the PMI.

https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.aspectj/create-release

Minimally, please provide a number, date, and one-paragraph description for your release.

More information is here:

https://wiki.eclipse.org/Project_Management_Infrastructure/Release_Metadata

Note that the information you provide in the PDF can be provided on the web form. The PDF is fine if that's how you want to do it, but keep the web form in mind for next time.

Hi,

Been a while since I've done this but I think this is the process.

I'd like to release an AspectJ 1.8.0 (now that Java8 is out) and am seeking approval for a release review.

AspectJ 1.8 is based on the recent ECJ for Java8 that is available as a patch on Eclipse 4.3.2.

I've attached the review materials and my iplog is here:

The major iplog change is that we now include asm 5.0.1 since we need that for working with Java8 bytecode.

Hope that is all in order. If not, please let me know!

cheers,
Andy
