+1 for Shane.

as for the process, I'm happy with individual PMC members making the call on whether or not an election has potential issues. Sort of like we do reviews.  In the majority of cases everything goes smoothly and there is no need for meetings, calls, votes, ...  As PMC members we should "know it when we see it" wrt election issues.

In any event, I'll go with whatever is decided.
