A committer election for Simone Giannecchini on project Eclipse ImageN
(technology.imagen) was started by Jody Garnett with this criteria:

I would like to nominate Simone based on his status as a "historical
committer" on this project and custodian of the JAI-EXT project (the
integration of which forms part of the project roadmap and is a strong
influence on the selection of the Apache License).
