The EMO monitors these channels and we normally will detect the +1 and update the tracking bug. It's not wrong for you to do it, but it's not necessary.

FWIW, I've hired a new staff member. Part of her responsibilities will be to monitor these processes to make sure that this sort of thing doesn't fall through the cracks. She's coming on line now, so this should get better.
