Re: [technology-pmc] Please approve Sapphire 8.1 release

Your sarcasm isn’t necessary or appreciated. The 8.1 release only exists for process reasons that did not allow a certain set of changes to be in a service release. I, as a project lead, don’t see a need to elaborate further in the summary and this type of a release will certainly not attract new participates to the community. Existing adopters, can find all the technical information they need in the very detailed enhancements guide published with the release and included in my announcements.

Great!

I'm going to tweet "Sapphire 8.1: A minor release with two enhancements."

That should get people stumbling over themselves to find out more about the project.

I'd like to see a short paragraph describing the contents of the release.

If I were to tweet about this release or include a short blurb about it to the board, what would I say?

Technology PMC,

Please approve a Sapphire 8.1 minor release. It contains two enhancements that couldn’t fit in the scope of the upcoming 8.0.2 service release (new api, behavior improvements, ip approval necessary).

The IP log has been submitted.

Thanks,
