Re: [technology-pmc] Moving Code from Recommenders.Incubator to Recommenders project

Since intellectual property is moving from one project to another, you'll also have to submit an IP Log for review (for the incubator).

Yep, we moved some parts from the RAP Incubator project (ClientScripting) to the main RAP project last year and all we had to do was this restructuring review which was part of the release review. Not a big deal.

It’s not a CQ that’s necessary since the IP process was in effect when these changes first went into the incubator. What you need is a move/restructuring review.

That part confuses me especially given:

Is Recommenders Incubator a separate Eclipse project?

Technically yes. We wanted to lower the entrance barrier for new committers and researchers to try out their ideas at Eclipse. That’s why we planned introduced the incubator (which separates committers from incubator and code recommenders "core").

According to the database it is:

Thus, I believe you need to file a CQ for moving code from one project to another with the relevant source code attached.

Okay, if no one else says something else regarding this topic I assume we need a CQ.

Thank you,

Marcel
