Re: [technology-pmc] Aether graduation

As I understand it, Aether is currently included in official release versions of
Maven.

Correct, Maven 3.1+ includes Aether 0.9.0.M2.

I'm lead to assume, therefore, that the project's APIs are stable and the
code base is mature. Frankly, 2+ years in incubation is a pretty long time.

I would describe Aether as being production-ready for the use cases known from the Maven domain. Whether that makes its API "mature" is left for the reader to decide.

Is there any reason not to graduate?

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Development_Resources/HOWTO/Criteria_for_Graduating_from_Incubation_Phase_to_Mature_Phase

These are the requirements that I know about and the way I read those, they set a pretty high bar. For instance, I don't see Aether having "active communities".

Is Aether currently benefiting from the parallel IP process? AFAICT, there are
no open CQs.

There are no outstanding 3rd-party contributions in either source or binary form, if that was the question.

The next scheduled release is for Dec 31/2014. Is there any chance that we can
move this to May or June (so that consumer projects can include it with their
own bits in the simultaneous release)?

If the powers that be find Aether eligible for graduation and the corresponding paper work is similar to the 0.9.0 release review, I can try to get a 1.0 release out around May.
