The latest and greatest version of Aether is working its way through the IP
process (CQ 5617, I believe). They currently have parallel IP check-in and
actual code in the repository. They are not, AFAICT, producing consumable
artefacts.

AFAICT, the code for Sonatype Aether 1.13.1 is the same as the code in CQ 5617
which means that this CQ is effectively asking the IP team to review the same
code twice.

If Aether can produce equivalent builds that you can consume, then you won't
need CQs, and the IP team can get to the rest of your CQs faster. Can you
initiate a conversation with the Aether project to check their status and see
if they can produce builds that you can use in a timely manner?

Or is there more to it than this? e.g. with this move Aether has changed their
package namespace; will that impact the corresponding Maven versions?
