Notes from the STEM Call on May 24, 2018

Welcome to Dr. Thomas House, University of Manchester, UK, interested in working with statistical modeling, will be joining future calls
1. Status of STEM Version 4.0 Milestone 1
“Randomize Seed” feature added as option available 4 April 2018
Ahmad will work on updates for move to Eclipse 4 platform (how RCP app handles commands and icons, etc.); Jamie & Stefan stand ready to assist
2. Potential build server switch
Need long term plan whether to mount on IBM or Eclipse cloud
Defer decision until E4 is complete
3. Permissions to modify Eclipse logos for STEM
Issue arose when confirming compliance of platform with European requirements; will want logos for STEM 4 consistent with those for Eclipse 4
Formal EMO approval process required; request submitted via bug 534480
4. Project Updates
Anna: Not on the call; defer to next month [Use of model generator to set value for transmission rate with 2 populations (water/nonwater birds); technical detail in equation; YouTube video on model generator; possible feature request]
Emily: Worked with Jamie and Stefan; presented her work at Almaden; collaborating with Taras on doc; deferring work on R package, not a problem now; no need to modify mixing edges; TO DO: Create a bug asking for a way in R to do a global change
Taras: Collaborating with Matthias on batch model, with Emily on doc for stochastic solver; will put documentation for his SIR modeling project (doctoral work) on wiki; TO DO: Will send project as zip archive to Jamie, who can put as a download on STEM site
4. Bugs
534480: EMO approvals for current and future STEM logos (item 3)
530858: “Randomize Seed” feature moved to branch; Jamie to Close Bug
530546: Avoiding misspellings in disease and population decorator; new, stem.ui-inbox
530549: Warning decorators not editable through the scenario in STEM; new, stem.ui-inbox
4. Wiki updates
Despite prompt permission from IBM, printer timeline prevented Nima Shariati at Lund University (Sweden) from using image of STEM related graph Jamie developed for worldwide air travel as cover for PhD thesis
