STEM Community Call Notes for October 2, 2014

1. STEM 2.0.2 up; next release scheduled for October 22

Bug fixes in but may need to change date

 

2. Feature requests

*From Nereyda, for dissertation: Restricting air travel for certain compartments

* From Jamie: Implement roads in Africa – Able to get from open street maps?

 

3. Possible use of the standards-based Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) for predictive disease modeling – No update

 

4. Possible use of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm – No update

5. Bugs

*Zero population regions fixed in Africa

*Map logger fixed

*Need to check world for zero population areas 

 

6. Ebola modeling – Updates from Kun & Jamie

*Items on wiki: Join STEM Ebola group via newsgroup

*New community members, weekly call: Information on wiki

*Publication (Kun: No news)

*Agenda for next week (Jamie to work with Judy; will send to volunteer moderator, Caitlin who is at Virginia Tech)

*Matthias: Chris has created several research proposals for BfR using STEM; interested in way to ease burden of collecting information from scientific literature
