STEM Community Call January 17, 2013

1. V 2.0 Plan discussion
Should we do an V1.5 (or 1.4.2?) release with STEM xtext integration "technology preview"? If so what date?

DISCUSSION: There will be a release in April; it will be either V1.4.2 or V1.5; should know which it will be next week; have another big project that may eat up time available
Features:
    Bug Fixes from 1.4.1
    Performance improvements
    Graphical Model Design (GUI for code generation)
    Advanced Dengue Example
    Stochastic Modeling - need to watch apach.math.commons library  
  
2. New Documentation for 2.0

* New STEM Update Mechanism
* Developers Environment guide updated (thank you Matt)
* New Doc on Food Distribution View [[take out of release]]
* Food Distribution view doc
* New doc page describing different solvers available in STEM

3. Bug(s) of the week

#393908: Support community repository; will remain unassigned for the time being

#395331: UI reveals internal attributes that shouldn’t be displayed; Stefan to address

#395529: New modern & interactive map view; Chris will discuss w/ Matthias; Jamie wants to consider Google Earth plug-in again

#395754: Automated experiments; Stefan will raise for discussion in future

#395845: Naming of decorators; Chris will assign to Alex as subject matter expert to watch, bring up in future discussion

#398413: Want shapes other than squares; Alex reported; remains unassigned, will be discussed in future meetings

#398419: Importing generated models; Chris had problem; Matt to address

    
4. Items from Participants

Chris: Apache Library has new pluggable capability that may be of interest

Jamie: Matt has put Apache in queue for Eclipse IP law review; will check status in month

Jamie: Almaden team working on proactive model for food distribution for big demo @ Almaden in February; Matthias is the theoretical user; will not be Eclipse (open source) right away; will have regular call next week
