STEM Community Call June 7, 2012

On Call: Jamie, Stefan, Matt, Chris, Judy

 

1. Daniel Doerr has arrived @ Almaden and begun his summer internship; will join call next week

2. STEM Milestone Build 1.4.0M1 is up

3. 1.4.0 Release Plan (tentative 9/25/2012)  
Need milestone build around 6/1 and/or monthly
*need to update plan page (and title)

*Chris to review wiki version  

     
 Performance improvements
    Parallel map views button: Chris to add a list of new map view features; hopes to do next week
    Simplified creation of new Disease and Population models (Tools for generating new disease plugins)
    Pajek-file Importer: Chris is documenting his work on this; will also use for doc on wiki (dual use)
        Enable import of discrete transportation events
        Enable integration between user graphs and existing STEM graphs
    Polio Example
    Stochastic Modeling Framework
    Ability to delete Items inside a graph from Designer Perspective
    Deep copy drag and drop for models
    Refactor
    Create new mixing edges (Chris to put edges back, Jamie doing generator, see details under 4 below)
    Improved UI for decorators view         
        
4. NEW DOC FOR 1.4.0
 *Wiki practice
 *Mixing edges and mixing edge graph generator (DONE); Jamie has one more link to create and integrate in models; when done (next week?), post it and earlier two (below) on newsgroup; decision is to avoid problems (e.g., ignoring common border edges) by never allowing users to create hybrid mixing based on two different models

5. ECLIPSE PREFERENCES (updating deprecated classes)

Daniel is updating and doing more; needs to be coordinated between Chris & Daniel; will be discussed next week

6. FOOD PRODUCTION: Next Step, cross correlation function

7. ISVEE2012 poster: Need to make one

8. UPDATE on JET: Nothing to report 

9. BUGS OF THE WEEK: None reported by participants
