[stem-dev] Notes from today's STEM community call

To all wishing to join next week’s call: Please note that the USA goes on Daylight Savings Time this Sunday, March 11, two weeks sooner than Europe.   

 

 

STEM Community Call March 8, 2012

On call: Jamie, Stefan, Matt, Kun, Chris, Judy

 

1. Release date for 1.3.1 is still 4/15

*If necessary, can push out a week

*Will need to set Code Freeze date

NEXT WEEK: Discuss dates

CURRENT PLAN PAGE

*Bug Fixes to 1.3.0 (done)

*STEM EMF update to version 2.7.2 (done)

*Generalized replay mechanism (done for diseases, working on population models)

*Shape File Importer: Improvements to GUI (on track)

*Population Transformer: “realistic” sample model on food mediated disease transmission (considering)

*Pajek-file Importer: Enable integration between user graphs and existing STEM graphs (considering)

*Graph Editor: improved zooming; deleting nodes and edges, improved GUI for new population generation (on track)

*Fix to population rewinding (on standard population model; new object, new doc)

TO DO: Update status on items marked “on track” or “considering” next week

DEFER TO FUTURE

*Scenario “compile” proof of concept

*Ability to delete items inside a graph in designer perspective (Stefan)

*STEM integration inside KNIME: creating a node within KNIME, node-repository that allows STEM headless execution

                Not really a STEM item; see under New Doc

TO DO: Update current plan page

     

2. NEW DOC FOR 1.3.1

* Possible polio

* Shape file IMPORT (done)

* Pajek integration (considering)

* New graph edit features (to do)

DEFER TO FUTURE

*New dengue example (wait until Thailand paper is ready)

*KNIME (take off wiki; create new wiki page on using STEM w/ other software sometime in future)

 

3. Disease Models/Populations Models View (update on this next week)

One view with three, tab for diseases, populations...What to name the tab? 

Influenza

Chicken pox

Malaria

Salmonella?

Dengue?

4. Discussion on how to make creation of disease models simple, eventually graphical (Matthias)

Jamie: Great idea, huge job w/ or w/o funding; solving for developers -> foundation; will scope w/ Almaden team
