Task and Documentation Tracking
On call: Stefan, Arik, Matt, Judy, Matthias
Graphical Editor
· Got update for editor, also project importer came from Jan yesterday; both work
Discussion re saving the canonical graph
· Stefan: To edit canonical graph, have to open a model, go through all graphs in the model, then save as a standalone graph
· Matthias: If you right click in the graph container, you can visualize all graphs in the folder, create a canonical graph for that view. How to save changes? As subgraphs or as a canonical graph? Is it possible to allow hierarchical graphs?
· Stefan: Hierarchy comes from the model
· Matthias: Not as intuitive; click on graph folder, visualize, get a complete picture of the canonical graph; destroys structure of what you have, i.e., 5 graphs in folder you combine to create a canonical graph; Jan saves changes in original subgraphs
· Stefan: Click on the model to visualize; canonical graph is generated dynamically; easiest way to save is as a completely new graph; models are containers of graphs; group graphs by models
Next steps
· Matthias will discuss with Jan, work to have the graphical editor and documentation for it ready for the next release
· Stefan will address minor UI issues with Jan via email
Update on Parallel STEM, Performance Results and Plan
· Have determined a method, still needs testing; Jamie working on algorithm
· Defer discussion for next week’s call
Discussion Whether Headless Runs (with Documentation) Should be Included in Next Release
· Checked in with main documentation but needs more doc; not yet in build
· Runs well on Linux
· Runs suboptimally on Windows; don’t see the console output, thus don’t have redirect, etc.; Eclipse bug on this, Windows has second binary—runs, spawns, immediately terminates; secondary process blind; can copy Eclipse C binary into folder
Next steps
· Matt will put link to documentation on the newsgroup with statement
· Can include in next release with documentation to explain limitations on Windows
Next Release: Current date is 3/15; Decision: Reset date to April 13; release will include graphical editor, headless build
Student Projects: Bryan and Justin on break; defer item to next week’s call
Items from Participants
Arik: Job redefined, has less time for STEM; in model he’s working on now, seasonality not as important but can include given earth science data
Stefan: Will send Arik link to model we have now
Matthias: Please include link to call number, participant code with emailed agenda
Judy: Will do with addressed email (not stem-dev)
