Task and Documentation Tracking
On call: Jamie, Jan, Matt, Stefan, Arik, Werner

STEM Release 1.1.1
· Release 1.1.1 is up
· Items will be posted on Newsgroup and website; Stefan to send items to Judy to post (Documentation)
Possible STEM Workshop or Symposium
· Jamie met with Werner and Mike M. to discuss
· Venue in Europe at EclipseCon November 2011 or 2012
· Eclipse will arrange/pay for room; no money for travel
· Workshop more informal; symposium more formal with invited papers
· Jan: 2011 workshop better for him
· Jamie will send Judy info to post on Newsgroup to start discussion
· Will revisit during next week’s call, figure who might attend, etc.
· Need to let Eclipse know by June
Process for New Committers
· A democratic process: existing committers can nominate, vote on new committers
· Should nominate contributors (e.g., Armin) to become committers
Graphical Editor (Jan)
· Will discuss following this call (long, technical, can stay on if wish)

New UI for Automated Experiment
· Use to fit to reference data; have had since 1.1 release
· Now in toolbar to help set parameters
· Will highlight as feature for Release 1.2; will need documentation (Judy to track) (Documentation)
Global Meshing Algorithms
· Need for countries like Congo that have no subdivisions, look like black hole
· Can access LandScan documentation associated with our labels to yield higher spatial resolution
· Note: Data must be available for distribution under the Eclipse Public License (EPL)
· Jan: Make this automatic? Jamie: We do the preprocessing as with Congo; this allowed under LandScan agreement (but can’t release their data)
· Jamie: Make meshing algorithm available as a tool?
· Werner will investigate possible contacts with access to higher resolution maps of Congo that could be made available under the EPL
Items from Participants
· Judy: Will work with Sondra and Jamie on AMIA proposal; Will send Jamie and Arik specs for graphics for PLoS One
· Arik: Reported on talk by Ben Rice at Haifa lab on Healthmaps.org; will consider inviting him to join STEM call; will followup on feedback on email request re Africa data
· Jamie: Thanks to Arik for revisions on mosquito paper; Dan gave us contact in Australia who may join call next week; interested in using STEM to model TB
