[spaces-dev] XDrive and Space Name
|
After clearing up yet another misunderstanding regarding Xdrive
"Account" and "Space Name" with intelligent people that I respect very
much, I decided to commit a version where "Space Name" is no longer
enabled in the "Add Space" dialog.
The following now applies:
1. When the user adds an Xdrive space, the Xdrive provider checks if a
root folder called "My Eclipse Space" is present. If it isn't, it will
be silently created.
2. If the user omits the "xdrive host", the default "eclipse.xdrive.org"
will be used.
3. The "xdrive host" field label was changed to "xdrive host (optional)".
4. The options "Add location to an existing space" and "Create new
space" are disabled by the Xdrive provider since they no longer have any
meaning.
In essence, if you have an Xdrive account, you automatically have an
Xdrive space. The only thing you need to fill in in order to attach it
is your AOL email and password. Personally, I'd like to see a
streamlined "Add Space" dialog with these two fields only. I entered an
enhancement request for that in our bugzilla:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=220913 (it contains a
question regarding "xdrive host" that AOL people be able to answer).
The changes were committed to revisions 10230 and 10231.
