GSoC 2017 is almost over - what a busy summer for all!
Next week students will begin submitting their Final Evaluations for GSoC 2017. We have encouraged students to reach out to you to share a preview of their submission URL and let you verify it meets Google's and your requirements before they submit. Students can not edit their evaluations once they have submitted them — it's in their best interest to have you review the link first.
Mentor Final Evaluations (of students) Start Tuesday, August 29th at 16:01 UTC
Mentors are responsible for validating the target of the URL (provided in the evaluation), making sure it points to the GSoC 2017 work product, and meets the other requirements. Mentors will use this information as part of their pass/fail decision. The deadline to submit Final Evaluations is September 5th at 16:00 UTC.

Mentor Summit
As of today, 101 organizations have registered sending at least 1 mentor to the Summit to represent their organization. We haven't heard from 80 orgs as to whether they are sending any delegates. Be sure to talk to your organization if you wish to be one of their designated delegates for the Summit.
Tuesday, September 5th is the deadline to Register for the Summit and to make your hotel reservation. There are only a few rooms left at the Sheraton so you should book in the next couple of days or it will be sold out and you will need to book at Aloft Santa Clara.
If your organization is not sending anyone to the 2017 GSoC Mentor Summit please fill out this form so we can make note of it and take more people off the wait list (there are over 40 folks on the wait list still).
Read the GSoC 2017 Mentor Summit website for many more details about the weekend. Please note events at the Google campus will begin at 6pm on Friday, October 13th.
Important Dates
August 21 at 16:00 UTC: Student Final Evaluation period starts
August 21-29: Students submit their Final Evaluation which includes
1) link to their work product (code) and
2) their Final Evaluation of their Mentor
August 29 16:00 UTC: Deadline for Students to submit their Final Evaluation
August 29-Sept 5: Mentors submit Final Evaluations of their students
September 1: Final date for students and mentors to update their shipping address
September 5: Deadline for submission of Mentor's Final Evaluation of Student
September 5: Deadline to register for GSoC Mentor Summit
September 6: Successful students are announced
September 10: Students who pass receive their final payment
Early October: T-shirts are shipped to mentors with assigned projects and to all org admins
