Re: [soc-dev] New to open source

i see there are quite a lot of existing projects on the site. Could you suggest me a basic one to start with or should i scan through all of them and choose the one im most comfortable with?

But certainly you can apply for the next year, provided you are eligible for the program [1].

Until then it would be a good idea to have a look at the Eclipse projects [2] to maybe find one that is interesting for you.
You can also examine the Wiki page with project ideas for 2013 [3].
After that you could contact the developers of the project of your choice and work with them towards an interesting project for GSoC 2014.
