Students: if you have been asked questions on your proposals, you need
to answer them ASAP.

Mentors, if you have not already provided feedback and/or volunteered to
mentor proposals that you care about, please do so ASAP. If you have
volunteered to mentor a student project, please take a few minutes to
reflect on the commitment; now is the right time to bow out gracefully.

I intend to do an initial pass of accept/reject on Friday. Only projects
that have a mentor volunteer will be considered.

Greetings mentors.

I've started preliminary assignments of mentors to projects. I've tried to spread out the love so that most of you are only assigned to one project each (with one exception). As a general rule, I advise against mentoring more than two projects: it can be a lot of work.

I've made a slot allocation request based on the feedback provided so far.

As administrator, it falls on me to determine which proposals we will accept. I intend to start with the highest scoring proposals and work down. I will do my best to keep things fair as far as Eclipse projects are concerned (i.e. I'll make sure that all Eclipse projects get at least one GSoC project before I start any doubling up).

As always, your feedback is appreciated.

Thomas didn't leave any indication that he was a committer in the application and wound up getting rejected in a bit of laziness on my part (I had to sift through a lot of bogus requests to mentor).
