First of all, thanks for your replies.

Yes, indeed - if user wants to switch from a flat structure to a 
hierarchical structure  (or vice versa) after the BS has been used fo a 
while, then internal-binary-persistence-storage-movement-operations must 
happen, in order to reorganize the storage structure.

Honestly, I already thought about this ... but for the moment I think we can 
put this point into the "features list" since currently we still have some 
issues related to file-system API (memory leak).
