Re: [smila-dev] Binary Storage Service - votingrequest forhierarchicalstructure

Hi Ivan,

First of all, thanks for your replies.

Yes, indeed - if user wants to switch from a flat structure to a hierarchical structure (or vice versa) after the BS has been used fo a while, then internal-binary-persistence-storage-movement-operations must happen, in order to reorganize the storage structure.

Honestly, I already thought about this ... but for the moment I think we can put this point into the "features list" since currently we still have some issues related to file-system API (memory leak).

Best regards,
Marius

Just a couple of additional thoughts. I cant stop. Ignore me :)

*******************************
Flat structure,
Hierarchical structure (configurable tree), Q, R
Hierarchical structure (deterministically calculation) N, L
*******************************

It's expected that user will configure parameters of storage by some expected number of records.
But after some time period it will not be enough. It's a typical problem.
User will want to increase parameters. But data collected should not be lost. And it will be required to make complete storage conversion. This conversion may be hard/expensive if storage is big.
