Re: [science-iwg] EclipseCon for Working Groups Announcement

Hi,

Are there any plans by the Science WG and Community for a session of Community Day 2020?

I had a chat with the Eclipse STEM team during the last call and it offers COVID-19 models which could be of interest, especially these days, but it is not sure, if even under the current circumstances there is enough momentum and interest in the main conference track, so I'm wondering, if the Science WG plans to do anything and was interested in hearing about STEM and the Coronavirus?

As it is virtual, I assume at least one member of the STEM core committers could join such a session.

Kind Regards,

EclipseCon has always been a great event for Eclipse working groups, and
this year?s virtual EclipseCon 2020 <https://www.eclipsecon.org/2020> is no
exception. The online conference is planned for October 19 - 22, with the
great content, networking opportunities, and fun that EclipseCon is known
for.

In particular, EclipseCon provides a means for working groups to highlight
their projects, to bring their community together to engage in shared
initiatives, and to explore with other members of the broader Eclipse
community to find synergies and best practices.

Planning for EclipseCon 2020 is well underway. The Call for Proposals
<https://www.eclipsecon.org/2020/cfp> for talks in the main EclipseCon
program is open now. Submit by June 3, and your talk could be accepted
early! The final submission deadline is Monday, June 15.

Community Day, on October 19, is focused on and around working groups. It?s
a place to gather your existing community and a way to invite new members
to join. Plan a meeting, organize a workshop, hold a marketing planning
session, set up a hackathon -- whatever your group wants to do! To join,
email info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (the earlier, the better, since space is limited).

FYI, for the first time, we also have special sponsorship opportunities for
working groups -- distinct from corporate sponsorships -- to enable
promotion of the working group within their community. To learn more, email
sponsors@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Regards,

The EclipseCon Team
