[science-iwg] EU project on co-creation
|
Hi everyone,
Lablicate has been approached to join a proposal (TEN4CO) for a EU call,
which will be submitted by end of August. As the project deals with
co-creation the cooperation within the science working group and Eclipse
foundation has raised quite some interest among the coordinators.
Therefore I wonder: Is it ok with everyone, if this project (in case
it's approved) seeks to gain some insight into the IWG structure and
cooperation.
Here is a brief description of the goals:
The main goal of TEN4CO is creating a conceptual framework for
co-creation projects from a structural and procedural perspective, in
order to maximize their cooperation and impact. The framework is derived
from studying four different focus areas (individuals, academia, public
organizations and industry) and ten different cultural contexts
(geographies). The main result of the project will be a set of
cross-domain measurable indicators (both qualitatitve and quantitative),
to evaluate the outcomes of co-creation projects, identifying key
factors for their success and future sustainability. Results from this
project will be disseminated among the 4 main types of stakeholders, to
raise awareness about fundamental co-creation principles and best
practices to improve effectiveness of this process and good balance
among participants.
The Eclipse Science Working Group is an interesting case study, mapping
co-creation in open source software development, traditionally presented
as a relevant example of successful open collaboration. Hence, we would
like to conduct short interviews with members of this working group, to
learn more details about its creation, organization and evolution. These
interviews should not demand substantial time from participants. This
information, together with feedback from other case studies in TEN4CO
(environmental studies, citizen science, social innovation), will help
to identify key factors that should be considered to improve the
effectiveness and good balance of co-creation processes accross
different domains, including the Eclipse Science Working Group itself.
I would appreciate brief feedback.
Best,
Andreas
