At this point it seems unlikely that nested diagrams will make it in for 0.3 release in June, but there is always the 0.4 release and my goal is to have quarterly releases going forward... So my guess is that 0.4 is sometime around Indigo SR1. Have you made progress on getting the approval to move forward with your Sapphire-based editor?
