so
1/ we can use the beta qualifier for a non final release (milestone)
2/ and such release does not need to have a release review and an iplog check ?
can you confirm ?
Julien
Sight. I pressed send too early. The wording "milestone release" is actually misleading. It would be "milestone and release candidate builds" as per the EDP.
I've always interpreted alpha/beta builds similar to milestone or release candidate builds. You can publish them and promote them. The term "beta" usually indicates that this is not a final release.

Hi Julien,
There are many names/labels for milestone releases. A beta release is a milestone release as far as the Eclipse Development Process is concerned.

Hi, we are planning soon a 3.4 beta release to get feedback from the community. what are the necessary steps for it ? I only see the Major/Minor/Service categorized in the Eclipse Project Handbook. we have done milestone releases in the past, and no formal process was required. thanks Julien _______________________________________________ rt-pmc mailing list rt-pmc@xxxxxxxxxxxTo change your delivery options, retrieve your password, or unsubscribe from this list, visit https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/rt-pmc
