Subject: [rt-pmc] Equinox Restructuring
Sent by: rt-pmc-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx
Greetings RT PMC.
After a short discussion with Tom, I have created a Restructuring review on behalf of the Equinox project.
The short version is that the Equinox Security project is a project with no resources of any kind: no Git, no website, no dedicated downloads, no dedicated Bugzilla Product, etc. All security related work is done in other Equinox subprojects. The Equinox Website project was created as a work around for the then-current version of the EDP which did not allow "container" projects to have committers. It was never really a project in the normal Eclipse sense (this was one of the very first things that I changed when I first revised the EDP). Equinox Website's only resource is the Equinox project's website Git repository. All of the contributors to that repository are already committers on the Equinox project itself; with this review, we'll move that website Git repository to Equinox (just a group-ownership change).
The Equinox Website project has no source code, so no IP Log review is required (websites don't count).
>From a practical standpoint, this change should have absolutely no impact on any ongoing work in the Equinox project.
Discussion is here:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=428036
The review document is here:
https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/rt.equinox/reviews/restructuring-security-and-website-subproject-termination
Can I get a +1?
Thanks,
Wayne
