Re: [rt-pmc] EclipseRT web site live
|
Hi Ian,
A few comments/observations
1) The existing runtime project page should probably be linked to this
(i.e. the page at http://www.eclipse.org/rt).
2) I don't see any mention on this new page of the EclipseRT projects
(or even any way to find out what they are/how to actually get the
various components). This seems to me to be a major missing piece, as
the first line of text is:
"EclipseRT is the collection of OSGi-based runtimes and frameworks built
by the Eclipse open source projects"
I think that at least a link to a listing of the EclipseRT projects
would be warranted. Particularly if this page is used as an entry point
for accessing/downloading the runtimes and frameworks produced by those
projects (as I expect it will be). I would suggest a 'Projects' link in
*addition* to the Participate link (which isn't active yet...as I
imagine it's just not ready yet).
3) On the new whitepaper page..i.e.:
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipsert/whitepaper/eclipseRT.php there are
several references to 'ECF' and 'Eclipse Communication Framework' that
do *not* yet have a link to the ECF project page. I imagine there may
be other project page links omitted, but I haven't gone through all of
them yet.

We have linked the new EclipseRT web site from the eclipse.org home
page. The observant reader will notice the cool new EclipseRT logo
right in the upper portion of the home page.
If anyone has comments or feedback on the EclipseRT web site, please
let me know.
Ian
