I appreciate your desire for the gradient
but I too think the logo is fine without it. Since everyone else has +1 I am
going to declare this is the final version.
Next step is to start talking about how to
use the logo. J

I would still prefer a gradient on the rings which I
think would help distinguish the back of the rings from the front of the rings
where they touch on the 2D projection. It's not a show stopper for me though.
