Re: AW: [riena-dev] Using Riena SubModuleViews in RCP

hi christian,

at the moment I must say that I didn't look so deep into Riena navigation...
step by step.... ;-)

...just had again some work to make my equinox-riena-easybeans server run with the newest esybeans with newest hibernate run
I'm in the process creating a sample project and server to demonstrate this

parallel I'm evaluating and then implementing riena UI, databinding, object-transactions

then navigation will be next step

my navigation should activate a perspective and one or more views
(could be more then one view in the workarea)

think it will take some days - then I can tell you more exactly

Hi Ekke,

and to underline what Elias is saying: if you like to use Riena Navigation in RCP but without Riena itself, it would certainly help to get a better understanding of the use case. Currently the Navigation controls the activation of Views in the workarea. Is there a different usecase that you like to use the Riena navigation for ?

Or is what Elias is doing actually what you need and not specifically the navigation (that is the module group, module and submodule hierarchy on the left) ?

Hi Ekke,

to avoid a misunderstanding, I have to point out that I'm working on making Riena SubModule's (i.e. Riena's views) usable in RCP, _not_ making the Riena navigation usable in RCP. However this might be something to investigate at a later point.

Elias.

hi elias,

looks great.
as you probably know I'll try to get most of Riena run in my RCP application without binding to the strict Riena UI.

I was thinking about "would be great to use Riena Navigation" - so good to know that you're working on it :-)

Hi fellow committers,

I managed create a prototype (hack) to make SubModules work inside an
RCP application. If you are familiar with Riena's navigation, please
comment on

to help me make it "production ready".

Thanks,
