We had the similar requirements.
In our case, we used ejscharts (http://www.ejschart.com/) in the browser (we
created a simple widget for that) and the BIRT engine in the server side to
receive the generated charts (in SVG – from the ejscharts in the browser) to
create the PDF reports.

Subject: [rap-dev] RAP plan for enhancing graphical interface
Hi All,
Does RAP development has any plan to support graphical data displays like
Histograms, Pie charts, Bar graphs, Percentage charts in near future. We are
planning to write an application using RAP which should create these graphic
displays ?
If there is no plan in near future, is there any alternative to this ? We
have tried integrating BIRT with RAP and it works fine . But having the support
directly in RAP will greatly enhance the performance of the application.
