RE: [rap-dev] Qooxdoo 0.8 layouting changes

Is there any problem with the Ext JS Open Source LGPL 3.0 license
(http://extjs.com/license)?

Open Source License
Ext is also available under the terms of the Open Source LGPL 3.0 license.
You may use our open source license terms if you:
- Want to use Ext in an open source project that precludes using non-open
source software
- Plan to use Ext in a personal, educational or non-profit manner
- Are using Ext in a commercial application that is not a software
development library or toolkit, you will meet LGPL requirements and you do
not wish to support the project

One more comment: GWT-Ext license is NOT compatible with the EPL, so a
fragment providing an GWT-Ext port can not live at Eclipse.org. There is
nothing wrong with the approach of Ext JS LLC, but it is not compatible with
the way we license software at Eclipse.org (no runtime license required no
matter if you use it in a commercial environment).

Hi Joel,

This looks indeed very interesting. We are intensely thinking about
decoupling the client side widget implementation (the LCAs) from the swt
facade, probably using fragments. This would allow using different client
side approaches. Would you be interested in implementing a gwt-ext fragment?

Dear Jochen,

Qooxdoo 0.8 looks like a quite interesting upgrade. But, meanwhile, what do
you think about Ext JS http://extjs.com/? It's receiving a huge focus from
the community. It could be interesting to get the RAP features using the Ext
JS (very) nice widgets.

I believe that the GWT + Ext JS (even without all the features provided by
RCP, OSGi, ...) are wining some points over RAP + Qooxdoo. Please take a
look (if you don't know it yet) to the showcase http://www.gwt-ext.com/dev/?
