AW: [rap-dev] How to invoke Executable program at client side

Hi,

please note that question regarding the use of RAP should be posted in the RAP newsgroup (see http://www.eclipse.org/rap/newsgroup.php) while the mailing list is used for RAP project development-related communication.

There are several threads in the newsgroup about creating userdefined widgets using userdefined javascript. Invoking executables on the client side is not a standard usecase of RAP applications since local resources are normally not available to the javascript engine without creating security wholes. But in principle it is possible to use Active X controls (if the client is an IE for example) or pluggable browser technologies to enhance the possibilities of RAP.

Ciao
Frank

Betreff: [rap-dev] How to invoke Executable program at client side

Hi,
I want to invoke one client program at client side.
How can I invoke the .exe file at client side.

Also how can I add java script ( what is sent to the
browser) from server to the browser.

Any example/sample code/documentation will help too.

Thanks
-Sanju
