Yes, I believe so. I use sync projects for HPC development, but it should work for any machine for which a remote connection can be created.

ok, thanks John.  It sound like I should look into synchronized projects.  Do synchronized projects allow me to develop and debug on a Linux VM or embedded linux machine from Windows Eclipse environment?

Thanks for your help.

I see. Remote projects were deprecated and replaced by synchronized projects a few years ago.
So I don't know if these files are still available or where they could be found. Maybe someone else
on the list knows...

John, thanks for the quick response, that is very helpful.

I probably should have been more descriptive in my initial post.

I am actually trying to setup an RTD server on a Ubuntu VM according to this url:

The first line of the install instructions say to find the server file and download.  The link that I included in my initial post was a link to the RDT server tarball.

Does that make sense?

thanks,
jm

Hi

PTP is part of the Eclipse for Parallel Application Developers Package.

(Go to the Eclipse downloads page and click on "Download Packages".)

Inside Eclipse, you can create a PTP synchronized project that interfaces
with the remote linux machine.

Hope that helps

Hello, I am trying to setup a remote development server for developing and debugging Linux applications from eclipse running in a windows environment.  Accordingly, I am trying to download the latest revision of PTP (9.1.2?).  I ended up at this URL and got the following error:

Eclipse downloads - file unavailable

The selected file is invalid, or it is no longer available for download.

This happens when the file is part of a nightly or development build. If so, please return to the project's home page and download a newer version.

thanks in advance,

John-Mike
