Can you confirm that the application was compiled with TAU? The tau compiler commands should be visible in the Eclipse console. For makefile projects it is necessary to add 

include eclipse.inc

to the makefile before the compiler definitions so the TAU compilers can be substituted. If all that is working can you confirm that the application ran successfully? If so can you see profile files in the remote directory where it was run, or if you run it manually on the command line are profiles created?
