Re: [ptp-dev] FW: [ptp-user] Parallel Tools User Call today

Jay,

yes it is already committed to the ptp_6_0 and master branches. It
should be available as soon as the next build of PTP is successful. Then
you should find and use the target system configuration
SLURM-ALPS-Generic-Batch for monitoring SLURM-ALPS systems.

Best regards,

Carsten

Carsten,

Thank you, this makes perfectly good sense to me. Do you think this will make the Juno SR2 release?

Best regards,

Jay

Hi Jay,

I guess JG is using SLURM-Generic-Batch as target system type. However, we have implemented specific LML_DA server scripts for the combination of SLURM and ALPS as batch system (see bug 391461 athttps://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=391461). LML_DA does not accept the plain SLURM scripts invoked by the SLURM-Generic-Batch configuration to be run on a SLURM-ALPS system. That is why a new target system configuration for SLURM-ALPS has to be added, which contains SLURM_ALPS as scheduler type hint:

<monitor-data schedulerType="SLURM_ALPS"> </monitor-data>

I will reopen the mentioned bug and add a corresponding target system configuration for SLURM-ALPS. Afterwards, a new monitoring connection using the SLURM-ALPS configuration has to be used for monitoring the CRAY systems.

Best regards,

Carsten
