Re: [ptp-dev] Synchronized projects unable to recovery from failure

Apparently it is bug in JGit. Being tracked here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=390689

Hi all,

Let me explain my context first:
I've been playing with PTP 6.0.2 in Windows (32bits) where I imported the Gadget 2 application into a synchronized Fortran project (mix of fortran and c/c++ files in the source code). I've also been using an PowerLinux cluster with IBM PE to run the jobs.

OK, I've had a problem with the synchronized project which actually seems to not be able to recovery from unclear failures.

The synchronized project frequently enters in an instability situation (I don't know for sure the reason) that makes me impossible to continue using the project. Moreover, if i want to reset and import same project again then I need remove workspace, project folder in target system (remove .ptp-sync isn't enough), metadata folder (.eclipse) and even eclipse home!

I noticed it enters in a condition where it keeps waiting to receive git objects that never ends. So no matters how much java heap memory I use, it will always fall in either out-of-memory or java heap space errors.

So anyone has already noticed such as annoying behavior?

Thank you,

Wainer dos Santos Moschetta
