Re: [ptp-dev] Indigo SR2 RC3 staging repo done - can test PTP Indigo SR2 RC3 from update site

I tested on Windows 64 bit using the 2/8 16:13 installed over a 64 bit epp-parallel build I downloaded from eclipse.org this morning
I tested creating a synchronized project on AIX & Linux, building. editing. I the PE JAXB resoure managers with and without LoadLeveler support and tested the old PE and LoadLeveler resource managers on Linux.

No problems found.

The big Indigo repository is done for RC3, so You can start testing RC3 if you like.
Remember this is our LAST CHANCE to change before Indigo RC4 next week.
The URL is
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance/

This RC3 repository, which should be used to build the Parallel Package tomorrow, contains
features from our latest build of PTP 5.0.5 today, available as archive at
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ptp/builds/5.0.5/index.html
- specifically contained in:
ptp-master-5.0.5-201202081613.zip
Which is:
- PTP 5.0.5.201202081601
- Photran 7.0.5.201202071801

Please  test early and often.
Installing PTP on top of earlier updates of itself seems a bit cleaner now, if anyone can remember specific scenarios where you
had that problem before, please try again.  (For example install 5.0 then 5.0.1 then 5.0.2 etc...  Or any parallel package, updating PTP to two subsequent releases.)

[cross-project-issues-dev] Declaring Indigo SR2 RC3 staging repo done

Despite Hudson's attempts to thwart our progress, our RC3 repo is done and
testable at

http://download.eclipse.org/releases/maintenance/

and this one is a true release candidate!  (though, I know a few more bug
fixes are planned for RC4, our final build).
Thanks to all those fixing "legal file" type problems, etc. to get as close
as possible to final form.

http://build.eclipse.org/indigo/simrel/index.html

Remember that once we release Indigo SR2, it will joining the Indigo
Release and Indigo SR1 repositories as a composite repo, at

http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo/

This RC3 build will be a good one to test as a "pseudo composite" by
careful construction of your software repository list. See

http://wiki.eclipse.org/SimRel/Simultaneous_Release_FAQ#What.27s_the_best_way_to_test_with_the_staging_repository.3F

This is important to test for things like "updates"
(You will have to wait till Friday, to test "updates" if you start with an
EPP Package).

and to confirm no features/bundles accidentally went "down" in version
number or in general other issues that can work fine in isolation, but fail
in composite repositories.

Test early, test often.

Thanks,
