I haven't tried it but that should work. I'm happy to do it as soon as I know that we are sure it can be deleted.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=362076 suggests to use 'committer + "/" + branch name' for all unofficial temporary future branches. That way people can still push their branch to eclipse (e.g. to allow others to try/review it) but it is clear which branches are official and which are temporary. Or if we decide that we don't want temporary branches in the main repository those could be pushed to github.
