Michael,

This is a good question for the general PTP list so I'm forwarding it there.

The status of the remote features is up in the air at the moment.  There are a couple of competing paths and the PTP and more importantly, the CDT team must decide how to proceed with remote features.   I expect that some decisions will be made at the CDT conference in September in Ottowa.

I think it would be helpful to the discussion if you would describe your requirements to the list (perhaps to the CDT list as well) so that they can be factored into the decision.

please allow me a short question regarding PTP.

I'm working in the project DEISA (http://www.deisa.org/). We would like to provide our users - especially the developers - improved access to the machines. Therefore I currently investigate solutions and possible start points.

Recently I have found the information information about the upcoming features at the Eclipse project site.

The remote compile and debug features I found very interesting. Are there specifications available which go beyond the pages in the web space (http://wiki.eclipse.org/PTP/designs/remote)? This would help to evaluate and advertise the benefits of using the PTP for our purposes.

If you have no documents available I would be glad if we could discuss some questions directly.
