should we include Egit? Git seems to becoming more popular, C/C++ package includes it also, and since we already include Jgit it wouldn't add that much.

It seems it is able to auto-detect C++ files but not regular C files.

I suspect there is a serious bug in "Remote Linux GCC Tool chain"
implementation.

Could someone double check before I open a bug?

it is included in quite a few EPP but not in all (including Classic): http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/compare.php

BTW: I think getting the RCP package when setting up the environment for PTP development makes it a bit easier. That way one doesn't need to manually get XML or Egit (leaving only CDT and RSE). Should I put that suggestion on http://wiki.eclipse.org/PTP/environment_setup_60?
